Conceived in the early 1960s during her student days at the Technical College for Applied Arts/Toy Design in Sonneberg, Germany, Renate Müller's exceptional, uniquely whimsical toy animals and shapes have been designed and handmade in exactly the same way since 1967 and hotly collected by design enthusiasts for years.

In the 19th and early 20th century, Sonneberg was known worldwide as the center of toy manufacturing. After graduating with her degree in toy-making, Müller began production at H. Josef Leven KG, the esteemed toy company headed by her father Emil Lindemann, while also handling development research, operations, packaging and international safety regulations for toys. Each of Müller's animals is made with an acute attention to quality and durability; they are hand filled with natural materials and individually sewn by Müller.
